Wild camping is generally not permitted; use designated sites. A single-night bivouac may be tolerated in some areas, but rules vary by Land and nature-protection status.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
This wooden cabin / shelter named 'Hans Straub Hütte' is a beautiful little building for seeking shelter against rain or to sleep bivy style while bikepacking. No waterpoint nearby though, so make sure you bring enough for the night.
You can close the door against rain and wind, but keep fresh air through the open window at the front.
