Wild camping generally needs the landowner's permission in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland is the exception (right to roam).

This is the Half Way Hut; a small and humble wooden shelter in the Forest of Glen Tanar National Nature Reserve, not far from Ballater village and Glen Tanar. It's a good place to shelter from the elements or enjoy a picnic lunch, as you follow along the Water of Tanar.
