Free camping is restricted, but a wide network of designated 'shelter' and primitive sites is available.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
At Frejas Gård there are three shelters with a great view over Jels Nedersø. The three shelters are built in connection with the open-air theater in Jels, and are used by volunteers from Jels Vikingespil during rehearsals and performances for Jels Vikingespiel. This period usually lasts from week 26 to week 29. The rest of the year you can use the three shelters freely. Reservation is not possible. Whoever comes first gets a place to sleep
There is also a covered rest area on site.
The public toilet facility is (according to information from a local) always open.
The water at the sinks is drinking water.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
