Wild camping is generally not permitted; use designated sites. A single-night bivouac may be tolerated in some areas, but rules vary by Land and nature-protection status.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
Great little shelter on a quiet track (approach from NW).
Enough space for an inner tent (against mossies).
There is water from a public spring in the religious place to the NW of the hut.
There is a rubbish bin just beside the hut.
Great view and only the odd dog walker.
Was here in June 2021 on my Sauerland/Ruhrtal bike trip.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
There is NO charge, it is just a random hut on a random track!
