Wild camping is generally not permitted; use designated sites. A single-night bivouac may be tolerated in some areas, but rules vary by Land and nature-protection status.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
This trekking site is offered by the Foundation Naturschutz Schleswig-Holstein. The course is located in the foundation country Olendieksau (near Langwedel, district Rendsburg-Eckernförde) directly on a hiking trail overlooking the generous and extensive pastures of stern cattle and Konik wild horses. To ensure that the imposing stern cattle, whose appearance is reminiscent of the former aurochs, remain in their pasture grounds, the fence carries a relatively strong current – please do not touch it!
A small wooden seating area is available on site. The Dorfmuseum Langwedel is a possible excursion destination not far from the trekking site.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
