Wild camping is generally not permitted; use designated sites. A single-night bivouac may be tolerated in some areas, but rules vary by Land and nature-protection status.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
No access via Nordstrasse
The trekking site is located directly on the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Path. On the bike/hiking path you come north via the Ohrfeldhaff beach car park (also called the road) or east at Geltingmole (the road is called Hunhof).
This place is provided by the Foundation for Nature Conservation Schleswig-Holstein. It is a small area between two pastures, located just behind the dike.
Those who put their dinner on the dike can enjoy the sea view.
It is not necessary to register in advance for camping on the site in the foundation country Koppelheck. Sanitary facilities are not available here. A sign with the “Wildes Schleswig-Holstein” logo makes it easier to find the place to stay.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
