Wild camping is generally not permitted; use designated sites. A single-night bivouac may be tolerated in some areas, but rules vary by Land and nature-protection status.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
The private place is located in the back garden area of the old forester’s farm in Kasseedorf, directly at the forest between. The somewhat dilapidated old bakery can be used in bad weather by arrangement with an open fireplace and as a simple shelter. Next to it is the meadow for camping with another fireplace. Water right by the house.
On the site there are still a cat, a dog, some chickens and with sufficient distance a few bee colonies. Children welcome, even for larger groups e. g. suitable for scouts.
The overnight stay is free of charge, in the bakery there is a donation box for all who want and can help with the material costs for a partial renovation of the bakery as a simple sleeping possibility.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
