Jokamiehenoikeus (everyman's right) generally allows temporary camping on uncultivated land, a reasonable distance from homes.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
The hut is located 4 km west of Tulppio (walk along a path).
The hut has been protected and restored by the National Board of Antiquities. It is a log cabin that was built during the logging activities headed by Hugo Richard Sandberg, the "Old Man Samperi", in the early 20th century.
In 1993, the buildings that dealt with the mechanised logging activities headed by Sandberg at Tulppio were classified as a nationally significant cultural environment.
Pets are allowed in the hut, but only with the consent of the other users of the hut.
Hikers are asked to bring their own waste to one of the area's recycling points.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
