Jokamiehenoikeus (everyman's right) generally allows temporary camping on uncultivated land, a reasonable distance from homes.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
The hut is not maintained, which means eg. that no firewood is delivered to the cabin.
Nature Services is looking for an administrator for the cabin. Maintenance includes responsibility for the condition, safety and maintenance of the cabin. Maintenance includes the supply of firewood to the needs of all users, emptying the toilet and waste disposal, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the site. For more information on cabin maintenance, please contact Olli Vainio, Fieldwork Manager, olli.vainio@metsa.fi.
Pets are allowed in the hut, but only with the consent of the other users of the hut.
It is also worth taking the first aid kit.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
