Allemansrätten (right to roam) generally allows pitching for a night or two on uncultivated land, away from homes and out of sight of dwellings.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
There are two shelters by the pond. The larger one is newer and in better condition.
There are grills
The small shelter has a nice seating area in front of the entrance.
Number of people (sleeping in shelter): 3 in the small one, maybe up to 8 in the larger one
The small shelter has a leaking roof. The larger shelter has the opening to the west - which is exposed in bad weather on the west coast. When we were there in the rain and strong winds, the whole floor was wet right up to the back wall.
Note The pond has open water, but not very deep. We used the water for cooking and tea/coffee - but boiled first.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
