Allemansrätten (right to roam) generally allows pitching for a night or two on uncultivated land, away from homes and out of sight of dwellings.
Informational only — always check current local rules and get landowner permission where needed.
The shelter in Suttarboda is functional but not very charming.
It's located on hiking trail Bergslagsleden.
300x230cm inside.
Drinking water on a barn wall on the nearest farm. 600m north. Do not drink from the tap near the shelter, it's for the cows and not suitable as drinking water.
Be prepared to wake up early when the cows start to sing for you.

A major milestone: we've rebuilt Camp Wild from the ground up.
The whole site is now faster, lighter on mobile data, and works smoothly even on a weak signal out in the wild.
- The map loads thousands of spots without slowing down.
- Pages open instantly and use far less data.
- Every spot now has its own link, so sharing a place is easy.
- Map markers no longer duplicate or get stuck while panning and zooming.
- Coordinates read from a photo are now accurate, with a clear message when a photo has no location data.
- Sign-in, comments, and reports are more reliable.
We're continuing to polish the new experience. Spotted something off? Use the Report button on any spot — thank you for helping keep the map accurate.
